Every designer should know something about the basics of printing, and we are all influenced by the printed piece as a medium of visual expression. If a design project is like running a marathon, then printing it would be akin to breaking the tape at the finish line. All the time, sweat and heartache of the design process is nearly finished at that point; a culmination of hours and hours of work distilled into a completed print piece.

OtherOmaha #1: The Chute

We are curious people. We enjoy the arcane, seek out the challenging and naturally question the unexplained.

As we travel around the city, we run across many areas that are not well known or traveled; some beautiful gems that are better off because they aren’t known, exquisite micro-pockets of art and whimsy and many spots that conjure up emotion, provoke speculation and provide a mental mini-weekend in Cabo.

Scootstock: Tune in, turn on and ride scooters.

Recently the Omaha Scooter Club and two Lincoln scooter clubs held a weekend gathering dubbed “Scootstock: A Happening”. Combining music and riding, the festivities started on Saturday and ended on Sunday. Activities included group rides, a motorized scavenger hunt, camping, swimming, a night ride, live music, great meals and a weekend of scooter camaraderie.

A few thoughts on analog thinking from a part-time Luddite.

We are constantly extolling the virtues to our clients of differentiating themselves and cutting through the clutter of competing and (non-competing) messages to win the affections of their customers and constituents. We strive for a very high signal (message) to noise (clutter, non-essentials) ratio in our designs to make them crystalline clear in their intent, meaning and purpose.
